This beautiful stitching set features Pomegranates, Peas and Pansies decorating the sides of a barrel pincushion with matching chatelaine featuring an emery strawberry, an acorn thimble pip, a weighted scissor fob and matching scissor sheath.

The scrolling floral designs of the late 17th early 18th centuries were the inspiration for this practical project. Crewel work was often monochromatic during this period. typical favourites of the time feature in the design - pansies, peas, pomegranates, pears and acorns.
Students will be experimenting with 4 types of Gumnut Yarns all hand dyed with the same colour, providing interesting textual contrasts,
All welcome however beginners must have knowledge of basic surface stitches.
